The many sides of Lauren (a look at Halloween costumes)

What a crazy and fun Halloween I had!

Really, I didn't just have a day of Halloween, if you want to be technical, I guess I had a few days. So much fun!

It all boils down to the fact that I love to dress up. Maybe it's the little theatre girl coming out, but I have always loved to dress up. I love to take forever doing makeup and take lots of time picking out who I want to be and totally get into character... it gives me the best feeling! I can (if only for a night) become someone else!

When I was little, my costumes varied from princesses to the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera to Belle to an Dana Scully... the possibilities were always limitless. I was almost always someone who I identified with at the time or was someone that I was seeing a lot of (like being Scully because I was in love with the X-Files).

So this year for the Richland Hills Singles Halloween Party, I was a CTU agent... loosely based on Michelle

Dessler. I say loosely based because I didn't REALLY look like her. Or maybe I did... I don't know. I had my naturally curly hair up with a few tendrils hanging down like she does in the first season, made a CTU jacket (yay for stickers!), carried a gun and a badge, and made my face a little roughed up as though I had been beaten up by terrorists. Overall it was TOTALLY fun.
I totally got into the part too. Being a "kick-em-butt" girl has always been my dream. So this was RIGHT up my alley.

But then I realized that maybe being a terrorist hunter for the Altamesa Fall Festival wasn't the best idea...

So I decided to ransack the Altamesa basement for fun costume ideas, preferably ones that required loads of fun makeup. And Jennifer was kind enough to let me borrow a ZEBRA COSTUME!!!

And I mean, check out the cool makeup! So much fun! I decided I was going to be a girly Zebra, so I had blush and pink lips and really blue eyeshadow. Not to mention my RIDICULOUS and awesome eyelashes!!

The sad thing though was that I totally freaked out every single little kid I encountered. They weren't real sure what to do about me. And I was in charge of the Cake Walk last night so I was really visible and every child had to walk past me while they were cake-walking so they all freaked out. A few kids even cried...
But the best of all of my costumes was the costume I wore to work on Wednesday morning.
I agonoized if I should even do anything, especially since I was dressing up for the Fall Festival. But at the last minute I decided I would go ahead and do it. It wasn't a hard costume. So Tuesday night I set out to make it.

I was a three hole punch version of Lauren. If you've seen the episode of the Office you know what's up. So really all I had to make was three black circles. So I did that Tuesday night while watching 24. So fun!
Now in this picture I only have 2 holes. Because somehow, during the VERY long day that Thursday was, I lost one of my holes. So sad. So when I got home from everything at 9:45 last night, I was sans my third hole punch. Lauren took this picture of me. I'm a sad three hold punch Zebra version of Lauren.
Say that ten times fast.
So overall, a fun and crazy week. Lots of dressing up and pretending which is always so much fun!
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!
