Angry Brides!

Here's some information for you boys out there. Girls like to buy wedding magazines and look at wedding dresses. When I was in high school my friends and I would make sure that someone bought a bridal magazine before we went on any youth trip. We would pour over them for HOURS and just look and look and look. And dream about our weddings and the dresses we liked and the colors we would want and the dumb guys we were going to marry (I'm pretty sure I was going to marry Hayden Christensen through most of my junior and senior year).

What was REALLY great was when Laura's sister Amanda and Ashley's sister Larissa got engaged. They would buy TONS of magazines and then let us have them when they were done. It got so bad that at one point we were seeing very few NEW wedding dresses.

So the other night, Lauren and I decided to buy a wedding magazine a piece and then swap them out! It had been a LOOOOOONG time since I'd bought a wedding magazine (covet) and so I was SO excited to look and and look and look at all the beautiful dresses and colors and (my personal favorite) the engagement rings!

But I noticed something strange. In the Martha Stewart wedding magazine in particular, the brides all looked ANGRY! I mean, check it out:

Her personal monologue is "My ugly feathery headdress will eat my face if I move it an inch."

Her personal monologue is "I'm so skinny that my stomach has disappeared and my whole body is collapsing in on itself."

Maybe I'm just an optimist, but isn't your wedding day supposed to be the happiest day of your life? Why do all these wedding models look A)malnourished B)like they're mad at the world C)not at ALL happy they're getting married.

I SO want to look happy in all my wedding pictures!
