Lost According to Lauren

My friend Katie does this wonderful thing with Grey's Anatomy on her blog where she tells her feelings about each episode or (lately) every handful of episodes.  And what she really focuses on is each character and/or situation on the show.  So I thought I'd try that with Lost!

Friends who have not watched up to tonight (January 28th), please beware of spoilers!  Big ones!

So without further adieu, (I'm starting with my favorites)

Desmond and Penelope: Oh how I LOVE them.  I'm not real happy right now though because I'm absolutely SURE that if Desmond goes to Los Angeles to find Farraday's mum (who I think is the silver haired lady that sold Desmond the engagement ring and was at the end of "The Lie" last week), then Ben will find Penny and kill her.  And then I'll be sad.  And really mad.  And them naming the baby Charlie?  I welled up.  Ridiculously sweet.

Jack:  I hope he gets his life together when they inevitably get back onto the island.  And "island marries" Kate and they live happily ever after.  He needs to clean up his life.  Did you notice last week when he was working on Sayid how much he was sweating!?  He was totally going through detox.  I thought to myself how awful it was for Charlie during the first season and what a rock Jack was during the whole thing.  I miss Island Jack.

Kate:  I think one of the funniest lines I've ever heard was when she asked Sun "What kind of a person do you think I am?"  Um, you are the kind of person who has killed.  Deanna said if she had to pick between Kate dying and Penelope dying, she'd probably pick Kate.  Because Penny is at least a good person.  Kate?  Not so much.  But she's still a rockin' character!

Sayid and Hurley:  I think Sayid killing the guy with the knife in the dishwasher has GOT to be one of the most awful ways to die...  And why can't every episode be Hurley-centric?!  He's one of my favorites.  If I was stuck on an awful island, I'd want Hurley to be with me.  He's got the best heart out of all of the Losties.  And the moment where he was telling his mom the truth... I love it.  I agree with him, they never should have lied.  And the way he was freaking out about Sayid getting hit with the dart was SO funny and priceless ("I Heart Shitzus" shirt!).

Juliet and Sawyer:  Love is totally in the air.  Juliet knows it's gonna happen.  Sawyer's just a little clueless still.  They can get "Island Married" and that way, when Jack and Kate come back, Kate won't feel guilty for loving Jack!  I've got it all figured out.

The Scientists (and Miles):  Miles is hysterical.  I love his little sarcastic comments.  And what a cliff-hanger with Charlotte collapsing into Daniel's arms!  If he lets her die (because he knows what's wrong with her), I'm going to be very sad.  Oh and Allison believes that there is a connection between Miles and Hurley somehow... isn't that awesome!?

Sun:  I'm not a fan of angry/bitter/revengeful Sun.  At all.  You've got a baby to take care of!

Locke:  I'm so interested in knowing why and how he is the Other's leader.  Basically, I'm interested in knowing what's going on with Locke.  Everything.  And my favorite moment so far of the season:
Locke: What is it?
Richard: It's a compass.
Locke: What does it do?
Richard: It points north, John.
Time:  Good grief.  My little brain is going to enjoy being stretched this season.

Whidmore: OH MY WORD.  I flipped OUT when the young guy on the island said his name was Whidmore.  FLIPPED OUT!!!!!!  (and tears came to my eyes, but I didn't cry!)

And finally, can I just say that it is absolutely AWESOME to know exactly where they film the show.  In tonight's episode "Jughead", I recognized the valley that the Other's had their camp!!  I've been there!  I've seen the mountains that are on either side of the valley!  With each episode I try to figure out "Where in Kualoa Ranch are they filming?"

That's all for tonight!
