Some Resolutions (of the New Year)

I really only made three resolutions this year.  Two are very personal (and won't be shared in this very public place).  But there are severale things I'd like to accomplish in 2009.  I hate to call the New Year's Resolutions though.  Those seem to be made to be broken...

So without further adieu, some Resolutions for 2009:

1.  To read something Russian and old.  I'm thinking about War and Peace.  I know, it would be a feat.  But I like challenges.  And I rarely stop reading books (I still uphold that I'm in the middle of Atlas Shrugged, even though I've been "in the middle" of it for 7 years now...).  And that determination has gotten me through many a boring book.  Moby Dick... urgh.

2.  To read at least 20 books this year.  My friend Juliette had this on her resolution list and I liked it.  I would also like to add  that I would like the books I read to be varied.  I want to read books on ministry, books on life, a classic (War and Peace would count as that!)... I want to be more varied in my reading.  Oh, maybe I'll try a Dickens...

3.  Explore Fort Worth more.  I know there are little hidden jewels of fun in this city and I'm going to find them!  Anybody want to help?

4.  Messiah's Muggles.  Poor Mags hasn't had internet access in her home, so things have slowed just a bit from our very exciting inception.  We've posted a few blogs to our website, but I want to be more active and I want more participation (and I'm counting myself in that!).  There are SO many topics that we're super pumped to discuss we just need a way to discuss them!  And I feel like I need to be more organized in that.

5.  To continue to grow and be challenged in my faith.  This is something that I feel never changes.  I ALWAYS want to grow and be challenged by my faith.  It isn't something I say at the beginning of the new year, it's something I am constantly working on and God is constantly working on me.

So here's to 2009!  May it be a year where God is working in my life and I'm letting him!
