I LOVE Summer (too)

The Bff just wrote a great post about how she LOVES Summer.  You can find it HERE!

And I absolutely agree!  Don't get me wrong, I truly love each and every one of the seasons because with each changing season, a new and exciting and often, beautiful change occurs, but for some reason, the change from Spring to Summer is probably my favorite.

I love finally FINALLY being able to wear shorts and skirts again.  I love that my legs finally have a chance to BREATHE again!  I love tank tops and sandals and flip-flops and bathing suits.
I love the sun!  Sitting out by a pool or ocean is quickly turning into one of my most favorite things to do.  Particularly when a good book is involved and/or some really great music.  Or reading my favorite magazines (Lucky or Self or Entertainment Weekly).  I love to swim in pools too.  I prefer doing that with lots of friends and family, but it's fun on my own as well.

I love Summer movies.  Lately one of my favorite things to do is go see a matinee movie by myself on Fridays.  The most recent one was Star Trek.  It's the first truly blockbuster film of the Summer and it was INCREDIBLE (more on my newfound Trekkiness in another post).  So many exciting films are coming out this summer, and I can't wait to see them!  Mere and I will certainly be hitting up the Movie Tavern and the Starplex this summer.  There's something fabulous about going from the hot and dry Summer afternoon into a cool and dark movie theatre that just screams "It's SUMMER!" to me.  Some movies I want to see this summer:  UP, Angels and Demons, Night At the Museum, and (OF COURSE!) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I love camp!  And Summer means lots and lots of camps!  We leave for Pine Springs in 24 (!!!!!) days!  And we've got mission trips and Trek and Mpulse... oh how I love my teenagers!

I love NO SCHOOL!  True, I don't actually GO to school any more, but my teenagers do.  So NO SCHOOL means more time to hang out, Tuesday Fun Days, His Hands (local outreach days), lunches, and various other fun activities that aren't planned.  Sleepovers and swim parties... hanging out with my teenagers when they're not bombarded by homework and class and sports is wonderful!

I love my birthday!  It's July 20th (for those that don't have facebook).  Right smack in the middle of lots of activity!  Which seems pretty fitting.  This year I'm celebrating with Dee and Ash at the midnight showing of HP the Wednesday before my birthday, IMAX 3D viewing of HP with Ash, and a mystery celebration with Mere and other Ft. Worth friends!

So many WONDERFUL things going on during the Summer, who could NOT love it!?!?
