Two Laurens, two Jeremys... one great weekend.
Between Lauren and Jeremy both making their way to Houston this weekend, a Superhero slumber party on Friday night, and an ever present BFF (just like the "good ole days"), this weekend was practically idyllic.
There was a LOT of laughing (more on this over at Dee's Blog), a lot of inappropriate-ness, and lots of girls in capes (Superhero slumber party).
Friday night I picked up Jeremy from the airport and we had really fun (and a couple of uncomfortable) times driving to Dee's where she was appropriately surprised. I'm pretty much the queen of surprising her.
I rushed home after dropping Jeremy off and threw on my Superhero pajama costume and craziness ensued as 12 high school and junior high girls and I ate pizza, made superhero t-shirts, and watched some fabulous and high quality Superman television- Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman and Smallville.
The next day, Lauren made her way in from Abilene and it was fabulous to see her! We had a great evening full of friends (two Laurens and two Jeremy's was a little strange) and king cake which I'm still not sure how I feel about (calendar or no calendar).
Sunday was filled with saving both Jeremy and Dee from wedding shower boring-ness and seeing Pan's Labryinth, which I enjoyed a lot! I also learned how to play Apples to Apples, my new favorite game! It was one WILY game! Complete with a calm Saddam Hussein.
Lauren and I ended up staying the night and we all had a great morning on Monday with waffles and a crossword puzzle and then I said my goodbyes to Jeremy. Lauren and I hung out with my Mimi that afternoon, made dinner for my family and then our friend Allison and her boyfriend Brad at Starbucks where we reminisced about the glory days of the ACU theatre department.
And then Lauren left this morning. It was a great weekend and I pray that God will bring more weekends like it. See more pictures from my fabulous weekend at my Flickr Page
Tonight I had an elder's meeting to go to. The elders asked me what I needed prayers about and I told them about my loneliness. One of the elders in particular talked about God listening and answering the desires of my heart. My greatest desire right now is to be surrounded by friends. God will provide.
Two Laurens, two Jeremys, one great weekend.
