When I was on the cruise with Jules, we discussed some of our dream roles that we would like to play in our lifetime. We of course disussed that at the top would be Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera (both our favorite musical), but I was honest with her and myself and said that it was a very unrealistic dream for me. And actually, she got to audition for the touring, NYC, and Vegas cast in New York a few months ago, so GO JULES! She'll totally get it some day. She's incredible!
In addition to Christine though, I had several more realistic roles I would like to play. And honestly, they can be anywhere, I would be just as pleased to play them in a community theatre as I would a packed house at Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. So for all to see, Lauren's dream roles!
Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical: Oh wait... I've already done that! But seriously, I totally told her she was a dream role of mine! So when I told Jules I was cast as her, she screamed: "GRAGS THAT'S A DREAM ROLE!"
Little Red in Into the Woods: I was made to be Little Red. Seriously. Ask Allred.
Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie: I had the privilege to play Millie in a musical theatre class in college (I only got to sing a duet though), but unfortuntely had a horrible student director who butchered it. I would LOVE the chance to do it properly!
Jo or Beth in Little Women the Musical: I really don't care for the musical, I think the music is so/so, but I love the way the relationship between Jo and Beth is explored here. I would LOVE to play either Jo or Beth.
Diana in I Love You Because: Pretty much one of the most honest musicals I've ever listened to (it's up there with the Last Five Years) and I love the role of Diana.
Yonah in Children of Eden: I've already played her in a musical theatre class in college and had an awesome time. I want to do the whole show now though!
Polly in Crazy for You: Basically I just want to sing Someone to Watch Over Me...
Girl 1, 2, or 3 in Songs for a New World: Because Jason Robert Brown is my hero.
Hope in Urinetown: I think this musical is hilarious and satirical and so sweet! And Hope is another role that I really think I would be good at!
