Because Mags asked me to (quite politely I might add), I've restarted my "LOST According to Lauren" posts!
So below are some of my thoughts about the new season. All three episodes we've seen so far at least. :) I'll refer to the two realities as the Island reality and the LAX reality. And I'll be referring to the Smoke Monster Locke as UnLocke. For the BFF.
Also, a warning. These are SUPER unorganized. I'm literally just typing as I think. So if things seem a little jumbled, don't worry. They are.
-So far, I've been very impressed. I like the idea of two realities. And I really like that each episode we see someone realize that things are amiss in the LAX reality (the scenes in the first ep with Jack are just SO good).
-Josh Holloway's acting has been WHOA crazy good lately. Good night. The scenes with him and Juliet or with him mourning Juliet are beautifully powerful. And have touched me so much. And Elizabeth Mitchell's second dying scene (why did they have to bring her back just to kill her... again!?) was also very well done.
-Poor Island Claire... I don't think her or Sayid stand much of a chance of surviving. Which is so unfortunate because I really like both of them. A lot.
-Did anyone else realize that it was Greg Grunberg's voice as the pilot in the first ep? Way to pay attention to details, Damon and Carlton! That's why I love you guys! :)
-DESMOND ON THE PLANE!!!!!! What does that mean?! Was he really there?! Was he just a figment of Jack's Island imagination? Is he time traveling?
-My thoughts about LAX Locke- I think he has a much better off-island reality. I mean, all I really want when it all comes down to it is everyone live happily ever after. And Locke deserves his happy ending. And Helen.
-Whereas I like Island Jack and Kate and Hurley, etc. so much more. Is that weird?
-And I really want to hope that LAX Sawyer and LAX Juliet meet and have a happy ending (that's why she said the weird thing about the coffee and going dutch and how she knows "it worked"). Then I'll like Sawyer's LAX timeline better.
-It's obviously all about what I want, right Damon and Carlton?
-Maybe not...
-The cave. Oi with the numbers and names already!! Claire and Charlie's names are both on the wall and crossed out. And why are the LOSTies numbers so low? And why isn't Kate on there? She was visited by Jacob as well. And it isn't cause she's a bad person because Sayid's killed/tortured way more people than she has. Maybe it's cause she always wants what she can't have...
-The new people make me crazy. The temple dudes. I mean, come on! We're really going to introduce new characters the LAST SEASON OF THE SHOW!? I do like the guy who plays Lennon though. He was on one of my favorite episodes of the X-Files (Milagro). He played a writer who writes about Psychic Surgery. And I'm really interested how it's all going to play out, but my poor little brain isn't sure how it's going to last.
-Mags thinks the bloody kid in the forest is Aaron. Yeah. Whoa.
-And speaking of the bloody kid in the forest, this was the first time that I got all so-scared-I'm-gonna-cry. It was an exciting time.
-What was up with Claire screaming "Aaron" when she was having the contractions!? *insert Twilight Zone music*
-So far the episode flash-sideways have been going in the order of the first season's flashbacks. So my guess is that tonight is going to be a Jack-centered ep.
That's all I've got. It's taken a lot for my little brain to remember this much! I'll try and have another one up tonight or early tomorrow. I'd like to get it up BEFORE I read the Pajiba recap. That's my goal. I at least won't READ the Pajiba recap until I've written this. Cross your fingers!

Yea for LOST according to Lauren! Thanks for the unLocke shout out. If only I had come up with that. I think my only disagreement is that LAX Locke has a better life. He is not himself. He is not Mr. Destiny, he is Mr. Quiet Home Man still in a wheelchair. As annoying as he is on the island I think he was fulfilling his true self there. Sadly that true self is dead, but still.
Woohoo! I'm gonna try to smash one out tonight, so it doesn't interfere with the Pajiba recap.
"The Lighthouse" should be a good one. I see Lennon playing a big part tonight...
